Welcome

Welcome to our blog. This blog was created so that family and friends could follow along on our journey to China for our little boy and final family member Connor.
Connor was born on October 20, 2005, in LinFen China. Connor was born missing his left hand and foot.
The question we get most often is Why?........ Why adopt a child with this handicap?
My short answer is, WHY NOT??????........ Why would a child with missing limbs be any less worthy of a loving home than a child with all their limbs. My long answer is this.... For months I looked at the sweetest little face waiting on an agency's Waiting Child list. When I read his medical report I thought, "Poor little guy, he is so cute, I hope he finds his family quickly." As the months went by, there he was still waiting. Then as I was out and about I started coming into contact with both children and adults who had limb diffferences. I started to get this stirring in my heart, towards the little guy still waiting for his family. I mentioned him to Chris and we started doing some research, and asking other parents who had children with limb differences about the different treatment options and about what their children could do. The answer from these parents was amazing. Time after time the response was, "My child can do anything they put their minds too", I was in awe ......... Children who are born with limb differences compensate for their missing limbs, they know no difference, and do not have the challanges of those who lose limbs by accident or illness. There are different types of prothesis that can aid a child in walking, and running (yes running), so that they can be like any other child, playing on the playground, playing sports (yes sports), and living their life to the fullest....
So after giving all this serious thought, we could not come up with an answer as to why not , why not make him a part of our family, why not give him the resources, and love he so richely deserves. We hope that you will come here often to check up on our progress and in the future to watch the amazing things this amazing little guy will do in life.

Till next time,

The Courtney Crew
Chris, Tammy, TJ, Christopher, Tiffany, Tiana and very soon Connor Courtney

Courtney Family,
Bringing Connor into your hearts and home is such an amazing gift for him and for yourselves. The love that this little boy has will outweigh any disability he could ever have from his limb differences.
We are praying for your PA to come soon so that you'll be one step closer to China and Connor! You are a wonderful family with so much to give a handsome little guy like Connor.....you all will be so VERY lucky to finally have each other!

Blessings and love,
Laura

Connor is so adorable - and you're right. He'll be running rings around you soon and you'll wonder what "disability" he has. He's precious and he deserves a wonderful mama like you. :)

I don't think I have thanked you yet. For what? Well first of all, for bring Tiana into our lives. She was been such a joy! She's a beautiful, vibrant liitle girl and my daughter thinks of her as a best friend. Second for taking time to include us all in this exciting journey to Connor. This cute little boy was meant to be in our family. We will all welcome him with open arms. You are doing a good thing for him and us. You know he may be missing a hand and foot but if there's anyone who may question your reasons for getting him may be missing a heart. I look forward to the day you bring him home! Maybe now my son will find a best friend in him.
Love,
Macon, Tricia, Ariana, Jace and Kaeden

Tammy and family,

Thank-you for inviting me to follow along on this journey to your precious new son! He is too, too cute, and I just know that he will bring heaps of joy to your whole family. I love the pic of Tiana with her big sister sign! Lily loves having a little brother to boss around, and I'm sure Tiana will, too! :o) God's blessings on your home! Jody Fasnacht
